Düsseldorf-based Druckstudio GmbH is countering the crisis by making investments that will expand its capacities. The package of investments consists of two presses, a folding machine and additional workflow modules from Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG. The total investment is around EUR 4 million. This move demonstrates that, even in times of crisis, the management team of Druckstudio GmbH remains confident that ongoing investment is the foundation of healthy, sustainable growth.

heidelberg-sx74-360“Continuous investment is one of the core criteria that maintain our high level of competitiveness,” says Werner Drechsler, Managing Director of Druckstudio GmbH. From August, Druckstudio GmbH will be using an additional six-colour Speedmaster XL 105 with coating unit from Heidelberg in its production operations. This investment will expand the company’s capacities, with the new press replacing a Speedmaster CD 74-5 with coating unit. “The decision to opt for a second Speedmaster XL 105 was mainly down to the positive experience we have had with our first XL 105 since 2008. We can now offer our customers an even better level of service, particularly in the high-quality sector and when it comes to ambitious finishing effects,” adds Drechsler.

One other new acquisition is a five-colour Speedmaster SM 52 with coating unit, which replaces a similar model. The press can be used for conventional and UV printing, and rounds off the selection of equipment available for special applications in the 35/50 cm format. A new Stahlfolder TH 82 folding machine brings an added boost to postpress operations and complements the existing Stahlfolder KH 82. This investment means Druckstudio is now working exclusively with the very latest generation of folding machines.

In addition to the new machines, Druckstudio is also expanding its workflow integration, adding Prinect Integration Manager and Prinect Pressroom Manager from Heidelberg to the Prinect Prepress Manager already in operation. “Intelligent workflow integration helps us to create greater transparency. That in turn enables us to centralise the planning, coordination and management of processes and workflows,” concludes Drechsler.
