The image and product brochure of Düsseldorf-based print shop Druckstudio GmbH shows just how innovative offset printing can be. It also won the company the Innovation Award of the German Printing Industry 2009.
inno_kleinOn 24 September at Stuttgart’s Liederhalle, representatives of Druckstudio GmbH accepted the company’s third prize in the Printed Self-Promotion category. The event was held under the patronage of German Economics Minister Karl-Theodor Freiherr von und zu Guttenberg.

The key question in the Printed Self-Promotion category was “What impression do graphic arts companies make on their customers?”. Druckstudio GmbH uses sophisticated offset printing technologies such as pearl gloss coatings, metallic effects, scented coatings and unusual embossing to appeal to the senses. “The clear way the Druckstudio brochure shows all the technical options is highly impressive – the presentation is fantastic!” enthused the panel of judges.

2009 marked the sixth outing for the Innovation Award of the German Printing Industry. With 364 entries and around 800 applications, it is the largest printing industry competition in German-speaking countries. In 2009, awards were presented in 13 categories to print shops, creative agencies, photographers, postpress companies, educational institutions, suppliers and the companies ordering the most innovative print products.
