The panel of 31 judges for the prestigious Druck&Medien Awards has announced the finalists and winners for 2015. This year, entries from the Düsseldorf-based Druckstudio Group have received a total of five nominations, making it onto the shortlist in the following categories: “Commercial Printer of the Year”, “Business Report Printer of the Year”, “Catalogue Printer of the Year”, “Digital Printer of the Year” and “Most Environment-Oriented Company of the Year”.
The “Commercial Printer of the Year” category singles out companies that use sophisticated production technology and outstanding, high-quality print products to particular success in what is the most fiercely competitive sector of the printing industry.
The highly esteemed “Business Report Printer of the Year” category rewards exceptionally high-quality annual reports, with particular attention focused on the combination of printing, coating, covers and postpress techniques. Other key factors include the originality of the typography and how easy it is for users to locate and understand the figures. Intelligent and creative methods for combining figures and images are also important.
The “Catalogue printer of the year” category recognises outstanding catalogue products. Although the key criteria are based on top-quality production, the judges also take into account the size of the catalogues submitted and the print run.
The criteria for “Digital Printer of the Year” include quality, unusual or innovative applications, and substantial added value. Particular successes in terms of customisation, personalisation and the cost-effective production of very short runs are also rewarded.
The “Most Environment-Oriented Company of the Year” category honours companies that are particularly committed to environmental protection and can verify this through certificates, emissions figures and measures that clearly demonstrate a “before and after” effect.
The winners in each of the categories will be announced at a gala event at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Berlin on 5 November 2015.
