Thanks to its employee-focused corporate culture, Druckstudio GmbH was once again voted one of Germany’s top 100 employers in 2010. It is the third time in succession that the D\u00fcsseldorf-based print shop has numbered among the recipients of the Great Place to Work Institute’s coveted \u201cGermany’s Best Employers\u201d award.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"1619941_deutschlandsbestearbeitgeber2010\"Once again, a delegation from Druckstudio GmbH attended a gala evening held at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Berlin on 24 February 2010 to accept the award. The certificates were presented by the event’s patron, Federal Minister Ursula von der Leyen. It was the third time in succession that the team from Druckstudio GmbH had taken part in the competition \u2013 and reaped the benefits. From a total of 235 participants, the company made it into the top 100. In the category \u201c50 to 500 employees\u201d, the print shop came 24th out of 62 excellent companies, up nine places compared to last year.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur employee focus is particularly important in times of economic crisis. That is why we took part in this independent audit on the quality of our working culture \u2013 even in the face of a difficult year,\u201d explains Managing Director Werner Drechsler. \u201cThe feedback report from the Great Place to Work Institute lets us know what our employees think about their place of work and highlights areas where there is still room for improvement. Of course, we are also interested to see how we fare against other companies,\u201d says Drechsler, explaining why the company took part in the competition again this year.<\/p>\n

Participating companies are judged on two aspects. The greatest weight \u2013 two-thirds of the evaluation \u2013 is given to an anonymous employee survey, which focuses on the credibility and fairness of management, the degree to which employees identify with their particular work and the quality of team work at the company. Managers at the companies also outline their HR concepts and measures, which makes up the remaining third of the evaluation.<\/p>\n

Drechsler is certain that it is thanks above all to the employees’ motivation and creativity that Druckstudio was able to strengthen its position on the market and increase its sales significantly last year compared to 2008. For example, five employees got together to form the \u201cGreen Team\u201d with the aim of coordinating the company’s environmental management processes and sustainability measures \u2013 true to the print shop’s sustainability strategy \u201cEcological is also economical\u201d. The company has also continued to grow, adding six new employees to the company’s now 75-strong workforce since the previous year. Drechsler also believes that one of the reasons for the successful relations at the company is the regular employee feedback on team work, processes and quality of management. \u201cWe can only improve and move forwards as a company if everyone is willing to pursue a policy of openness and show an active desire to change. This, in turn, enables us to focus more clearly on the requirements of our customers.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite this further confirmation of their qualities as good employers, the managers at Druckstudio have no intention of resting on their laurels. Instead, they are using this success as motivation to maintain their place at the front of the pack in 2010. \u201cMotivation and enjoyment at work are reflected in the resultant performance \u2013 and we want to encourage this way of thinking in the years ahead\u201d, says Drechsler.<\/p>\n
