Druckstudio Group wins German Sustainability Awards\u00a0– holistic approcha impresses jury.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n

The D\u00fcsseldorf-based Druckstudio Group has been awarded the German Sustainability Award for Companies in the \u2018Printing Companies\u2019 category. The award honours exemplary sustainability achievements in business, local government and research. It is considered one of the most prestigious awards in the field of sustainability in Europe and is based on the United Nations’ Agenda 2030. The competition examines all of a company’s processes for aspects such as environmental compatibility, energy and resource efficiency, fair logistics and social standards. The Druckstudio Group has been a pioneer in sustainability in the printing industry for many years. It was already among the three finalists for the award in 2024 and is now delighted to receive recognition for its commitment, particularly in the areas of climate and resource protection.<\/strong><\/p>\r\n

\u2018We have been working intensively on the issue of sustainability since 2007 \u2013 it has long been part of our brand essence. The goal of our sustainability strategy is to protect the environment and ensure a financially healthy company with highly motivated employees, sustainably manufactured print products and social commitment,\u2019 explains Werner Drechsler, founder and managing partner of the Druckstudio Group. \u2018We are proud that this award now proves that we are among the most sustainable companies in Germany. The award shows us that our efforts are worthwhile and are being noticed. It underlines that we, as a medium-sized company, are taking responsibility and actively protecting the climate and the environment through targeted measures.\u2019<\/p>\r\n

‘Certifications and awards prove commitment’
<\/strong>The company’s commitment has already been recognised with numerous awards: in the middle of the year, it was awarded the silver medal by EcoVadis, a global sustainability ranking company. It ranks among the top companies in the environmental index for printed matter (UmDEX.de) and is certified according to the world’s highest environmental standard, EMAS (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme). As one of the few printing companies in Germany, the group meets the criteria of the Blue Angel DE-UZ 195 and has also been awarded the EU Green Brands seal of approval since 2021. \u2018We combine economic success with ecological and social responsibility,\u2019 says Werner Drechsler.<\/p>\r\n

‘Holistic-commitment and future orientation impress jury’
<\/strong>The Druckstudio Group uses only green electricity and generates electricity through its own photovoltaic system on the roofs of its company buildings. It also uses chemical-free printing plates, 100 per cent IPA-free printing (alcohol-free printing) and organic vegetable oil-based inks. Energy-efficient lighting, GreenIT and a heat recovery system on the printing machines to use waste heat for heating have been standard at the D\u00fcsseldorf-based medium-sized company for years. The company’s recycling rate is around 95 per cent. The medium-sized company thus enables its customers to achieve virtually emission-free print production. In addition to its ecological commitment, the company supports social projects for children in need and provides its employees with regular and intensive training in sustainability issues \u2013 such as efficient machine operation and operational recycling processes.<\/p>\r\n

This holistic, consistent commitment impressed the jury of the German Sustainability Award. They described the company as \u2018an outstanding example of how sustainability can be consistently and profoundly integrated into all areas of a business.\u2019 The commitment is not only technically remarkable, but also a strong sign of responsibility and future orientation within the entire industry. While the ecological footprint of many production processes is still growing rapidly, the Druckstudio Group impressively demonstrates how this trend can be reversed through targeted measures and measurable sustainability strategies. The official award ceremony will take place on 5 December in D\u00fcsseldorf.<\/p>\r\n

But for the Druckstudio Group, the journey towards sustainability does not end there: a continuous environmental management system ensures constant improvement. \u2018In 2026, we plan to further reduce our Scope 3 emissions, i.e. emissions that arise in our value chain but are not directly controlled by us,\u2019 explains Werner Drechsler. \u2018This includes, for example, downstream transport of our printed products.\u2019<\/p>\r\n
